The money raised through ANDORC’s efforts is used to support and educate local volunteers who travel to Russia to care for orphaned children in under-served facilities. Each year,  ANDORC provides at least one volunteer with the opportunity to travel abroad and expand their horizons. While spending their days with the neglected and lonely children, these volunteers have the unique opportunity to experience Russian culture, practice speaking the language, meet new people, and gain valuable humanitarian skills. While a volunteer may not otherwise have this opportunity to travel abroad, it is important to realize that ANDORC’s mission first and foremost—and the reason ANDORC was founded—is to nurture the development of orphaned Russian children.

ANDORC’s volunteers are expected to work a minimum of 35 hours per week in the orphanages over a period of approximately three months. Our past two volunteers are Christina Peterson and Candice McDougall. Their compelling stories of the conditions found in the orphanages and their thoughts on touching the lives of the abandoned Russian orphans would help anyone understand the need for our organization to continue sending volunteers.
